Sello Chakra Amazonia
The label represents food from the diverse forest gardens of Kichwa communities in the Ecuadorian Amazon. It shows where GUYA ingredients grow and the type of agriculture behind them.
More than a growing area
A forest garden full of diversity.
A Chakra brings together trees, fruit, vegetables, spices, herbs, medicinal plants and crops on the same land. This diversity creates habitats, provides families with food and enables income from different harvests.
The Sello Chakra was developed in 2019 by Indigenous Kichwa communities. Nine principles connect ecosystem protection with food security, family income and local organisation.
Forest rather than monoculture
Different plants grow together at several heights. The forest remains part of the agricultural land.
Local cycles
The Chakra principles rely on locally produced organic inputs and exclude external synthetic fertilisers and pesticides.
Sustained by Kichwa families
Knowledge, cultivation and processing remain closely linked to the families and communities in Napo province.
Internationally recognised
In 2023, the FAO recognised the traditional Chakra system as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System.

Sello Chakra Amazonia is a distinct origin and cultivation label. It does not replace certification under the EU Organic Regulation.
GUYA carries the Sello for all products in this range. For larger purchase quantities, GUYA can also give written permission on request to use the label in the retailer’s advertising. This makes it possible to show the Chakra Amazónica origin transparently on shelves, in shop windows and in the retailer’s own sales materials.
